Zombie Caricatures Live Event A SUCCESS!

Last weekend I did a Live Zombie Caricature event at Austin Books & Comics (5002 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX 78751) that turned out to be QUITE a successful event! 30 people were zombified in about 6 hours time. I had maybe two 5 min breaks towards the end (my bladder could only last so long!), and I was sore for the next day, BUT IT WAS COMPLETELY WORTH IT. I met so many great and wonderful people at the event, not to mention having the support of one of the best comic stores I'VE EVER BEEN TO and ALL MY FRIENDS that came by to support me! If you are a fan of this site or of my work, do know that Austin Books stands in the highest regards with me and I recommend them for all your comic book needs. Even if you are NOT a big comic book person..the store is still really neat to go into as it offers a variety of merchandise including shirts, caps, posters and toys among other great products. so bit of a different technique for this caricature, i've been stayin' with the same style/techniques for the series thus far b/c of time efficiency, really. the style still packed a punch and i could get through them moderately quick. as we near halloween though...i wanted to change it up a lil' bit. ;)

the latest caricatures, i think Grinnin' Dead Guy is the most optimistic zombie i've drawn thus far and Drop Dead Gorgeous i'd still date, which would be the first time i've had those kinda thoughts about cadavers.

1st Zombie Caricatures for 2011!

Did a quick "zombified" version of my talking head character..thought it was only fitting And the FIRST person to get their digital zombie caricature is Ms Jackie Hollywood! Lovely gal from Cali and a good friend of mine, I used a pic of her in a very appealing cheetah outfit and made it a bit more...deadly. [zziiing] Like what you see? Order yours today!!!

Zombie Caricatures!

So for those of you who don't know how I got into the Zombie Biz, 3 years back I started a project baaaasically to keep me busy and off the streets..well....not the streets anyways, but to keep me from dyin' from boredom. I myspaced (yeahp, when THAT was popular) and facebooked everyone who wanted a "zombie caricature" to message me. I got a surprising response, requests, everything from celebrities to movie stars to personal caricatures..i drew somethin' like 70 odd zombies in a month's time. That inspired me to keep drawin' zombies (which I NEVER drew before that project, really at all) and thus this blog was born. I initially considered this to be an annual project I'd take on every October, but if I can get a good response...I might just keep it longer..which I hope to do!! Digital copies (facebook size) will be formatted as you see with the sample pictures below. Digital copies are $10. For those of you that would like something physical to hold and to show off (which would make me VERY flattered), I can make actual prints, 11x14 size, poster paper (semi-gloss) for $25. And you'd get the digital copy along with the actual poster. Bam.
